Harare Sustainable Cities Initiatives
The provision of sustainable urban basic services is essential for transforming urban life, particularly in low-income communities. Access to clean energy, sustainable waste management, and an efficient built environment can significantly improve the quality of the environment
Urban Smart Fermentation
Smart fermentation concept is a modern technology for composting agricultural and household waste, obtaining liquid and solid soil enhancers. A 100 households are being empowered to divert organic waste into compost spurring on urban agriculture & enhancing food security.
Abandoned Fish Nets Buy Back Scheme
We reduced the impact of plastic pollution on the aquatic biodiversity along the Lake Kariba in the Gache-gache area through the recovery of 9tons of plastic fishing nets. The pilot project established a buy back plastic collection scheme and demonstrate the possibilities of disposing plastic fishing nets in a more sustainable manner.
